Client Communications Associate

ABOUT

The Director of Communications will cover a portfolio of clients, execute on media relations, content, digital, events, press events and branding. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in strategic communications, either in-house or at a public relations agency. Core required competencies include strong media pitching, writing, media relations experience, and social media.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating overall communications strategy to increase a portfolio of clients on visibility as well as the firm’s presence in the media.

  • Maintain and create content for web and social media presence, including the website, strategic use of E-mail, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other media channels.

  • Drafting and executing press releases and statements on behalf of clients. 

  • Creating press/social media calendars that incorporate events and activities as well as earned media opportunities.

  • Leading and directing earned media efforts, including organizing and coordinating news events, drafting press releases and outreach to media.

  • Coordinating Digital and Video production/campaigns. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Positive, friendly personality, with experience interacting with a diverse group of clientele and staff.  

  • Ability to meet deadlines and turn around high quality work quickly and accurately. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Extraordinary attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience in New York City media a MUST.

  • Bachelor's degree required. 

  • This is a primarily remote position but requires a living in the NYC Tri-State Area to attend ad hoc client meetings and staffing events as needed.
