The Advance Group Win’s national "Best in Show" for their ad "2021" at the 2010 Pollie Awards hosted by the American Association of Political Consultants
MARCH 25, 2010
Hailed as the "Oscars of Political Advertising" the Pollies represents those engaged in the business of politics. Spanning several categories, the Pollie Awards offers an opportunity for both political consulting and public affairs professionals to achieve recognition.
Winners, selected by a panel of judges representing the industry's best campaigning experts, are announced at the American Association of Political Consultants annual awards. Winners represent the latest talent and techniques in this 8 billion dollar industry.
The Advance Group was hired by The Communication Workers of American Union, Local 1180 to run an ad campaign against the re-election of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The Mayor was spending almost 1 million dollars a day on his re-election bid, so no union had a chance to match the amount of money he was spending. The only way to get some attention to Local 1180’s message, among complete saturation of the airwaves by the Bloomberg campaign, was to create an ad creative enough that it would generate its own earned media.
